Florence Duomo: OPA

When I first went to the Duomo, I was struck by the floor. I know, everyone looks up at the Duomo and the overpowering magnitude. I looked down at the amazing variety of the floor itself. The floor is episodic and this piece is just one of many sections. I love how the entire floor is mainly 3 colors: white, black and burgundy. I have used white and gray variations of fabric to emphasize the geometric swirls and how they interweave with each other.
