Roman Floor

On a vacation in Rome, I took some pictures in an archeological museum and didn’t think anything further about it. Months later I came back to the pictures and found this ruin of a floor with Medusa at the center. I was inspired and thought that maybe with 1 centimetre squares I could both render the famous woman and keep the mosaic quality of the original. I went back and forth if I should render it with the destroyed sections as they are today or “repair” it and show the original intent. I chose the latter.
