Notre Dame

This piece began as a discussion at my local (now closed) quilt store here in Paris. Strangely, this was about 2 months before the disastrous fire that destabilized the building and destroyed the roof. I had already decided on the colors, but now they echoed the tragic fire.It was not an easy piece to do, given that there are so few straight lines; all curves, all the time. I did keep true to the original with the windows at the bottom (and masonry at the top). It is natural to want symmetry, but in this instance, it would not reflect the actual window.
